Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in a message on World Cleanup Day, said cleanliness holds special importance in Islam and that a clean Punjab is the foundation of a healthy and prosperous future. She described the 'Suthra Punjab' project as a major initiative aimed at creating a cleaner and healthier province.
Maryam Nawaz said a systematic cleanliness programme has been launched not only in cities but also across 25,000 villages. She said the programme includes sustainable and environmentally friendly measures, stressing that a clean environment can help prevent diseases and improve quality of life.
The chief minister said keeping Punjab clean and green and ensuring the health and well-being of its people remains a priority. She urged citizens to properly dispose of waste, reduce the use of plastic and play their part in keeping their homes, streets and neighborhoods clean.
