Mayo Mountain Rescue responds to three incidents on Croagh Patrick and Nephin in 48 hours

Three people were stretchered from Croagh Patrick and Nephin during three separate call-outs in 48 hours by Mayo Mountain Rescue. The incidents, which involved two female hikers and one male hiker, occurred between Monday and Tuesday evening. The first incident occurred on Monday, when a member of the Croagh Patrick Paths Team contacted emergency services after a woman fell while descending Croagh Patrick. An Garda Síochána tasked Mayo Mountain Rescue to attend the scene. When they arrived, the woman was assessed and stretchered from the mountain. The group attended two simultaneous incidents on Tuesday evening, firstly when An Garda Síochána tasked them to attend a man on Nephin who required medical assistance. A response party attended the man and safely stretchered him from the mountain. While this was ongoing, another team attended a woman on Croagh Patrick who also required medical assistance.
