The nonprofit had served Southern Nevada survivors of sexual violence and exploitation for more than 50 years, offering free counseling, support groups, education programs and 24-hour crisis hotlines. CEO of Signs of HOPE Kim Small joined ARC Las Vegas to share more about the organization's need for volunteers. Applications were open through September 23. Volunteers had to be at least 18, live in Southern Nevada and pass a background check. Training was provided through a five-week Advocacy University program. Volunteers could help with office work, outreach events, crisis hotline calls, hospital visits and the RISE anti-human trafficking team. Signs of HOPE said it especially needed multilingual volunteers who spoke English, Spanish, Mandarin or Tagalog. To apply, people could visit sohlv.org.
