The Rough Rider Center, 2209 Wolves Den Parkway, Watford City, ND, is excited to announce that War in Watford will return for its seventh year on Sept. 11-12, bringing two nights of North American Hockey League (NAHL) preseason action to Watford City. The Minot Minotauros and Bismarck Bobcats will once again face off at the Rough Rider Center, renewing their longtime rivalry in a two-game preseason series. The matchup gives fans an early look at both teams while delivering the fast-paced, hard-hitting hockey that has made War in Watford an annual tradition. This year's event will feature an America 250 theme in recognition of the 250th anniversary of American independence. Both teams will wear exclusive America 250 specialty jerseys designed specifically for War in Watford and worn only during the two-game series. The specialty jerseys feature patriotic design elements inspired by American history, including an America 250-themed logo, imagery of colonial and modern American soldiers, and team-specific details honoring the American flag, the original 13 colonies and other national symbols. Beyond the action on the ice, fans can enjoy concessions, event merchandise, Chuck-a-Puck, a 50/50 raffle and a cash bar throughout both evenings. New this year, tickets are just $10, making it easier for families, first-time attendees and longtime hockey fans to experience War in Watford at the Rough Rider Center. War in Watford will also serve as the opening event of the Rough Rider Center's Major Matchup Series, a three-event lineup of hockey and women's college basketball this fall. The series continues with NAHL regular-season hockey on Oct. 10 and 11, featuring the Minnesota Mallards and Wisconsin Windigo, before concluding on Oct. 17 with a women's college basketball exhibition game between Minot State University and Brandon University. The Rough Rider Center thanks American Legion, Lund Oil and First International Bank & Trust for their support of this year's War in Watford. Doors Open at 5:30 p.m. with the Puck Drop at 7 p.m. For event Information & tickets: https://roughridercenter.com/event/war-in-watford/.
