(WJW) – A baby teether is being recalled due to the risk of serious injury or death from choking. The nationwide recall is for about 22,660 teethers that look like Elmo, the beloved Sesame Street character. An additional 3,177 sold in Canada are affected as well. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Skip Hop Baby Sesame Street Elmo Silicone Teether's black eyes can detach if frozen, creating a choking hazard. No injuries have been reported in relation to this recall. The Elmo teether was sold nationwide from January 2025 through March 2026 at Carter's stores, online and at www.skiphop.com. The recalled model number is 9R263210. A red tag with the teether model number is on the side of the teether's crayon box for reference. Consumers are advised to keep Baby Sesame Street Elmo Silicone Teethers out of reach of children. To get a full refund, they can contact Skip Hop Inc. at www.skiphoprecall.com.
