Two Bodies Found at Fort Lauderdale's Flagler Village

Fort Lauderdale police found a man and a woman dead inside an apartment unit at a downtown luxury complex, after officers responded to a report of a possible suicide. The bodies were discovered in a residence in the 400 block of Northeast Third Avenue, at the seven-story Pearl Flagler Village building, and investigators say they do not believe the deaths pose any immediate threat to the surrounding community. Police confirmed the discovery of the two bodies but have not released how the man and woman died, according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Building management at Pearl Flagler Village told the outlet that law enforcement found the two deceased individuals in an apartment on the property, and said the incident appears isolated to people associated with that unit. The names of the two victims have not been released. Fort Lauderdale police said detectives do not believe there is any immediate threat to the local community as the investigation continues. The department has not disclosed additional details about what led officers to the unit beyond the initial report of a possible suicide, and the case remains active. The Morgan Group sold the property in January 2020 for more than $115 million, or roughly $329,411 per unit, after which institutional manager Clarion Lion Properties Fund acquired a significant stake in the development, according to The Real Deal. The building sits within Flagler Village, a downtown redevelopment district spanning roughly 151 to 250 acres between Broward Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard, bounded by Federal Highway and the Florida East Coast Railway tracks, according to Beth Daly Coastal Real Estate.
