Israel Bars U.K. Officials, Closes Jerusalem Consulate in Response to West Bank Settlement Sanctions

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced Tuesday that in response to sanctions imposed by Britain, Israel will close the British Consulate in East Jerusalem and expel British representatives from the international center in Kiryat Gat. In addition, Sa'ar announced that in response, Israel will cease British activity to train Palestinian Authority forces by "The British Support Team in Ramallah" and ban entry to Israel for 12 other British public officials and citizens "involved in antisemitic and anti-Israel activity and those who deny the very existence of the State of Israel," he said.
