Rogerio Ceni, Jose Luis Chilavert, Jorge Campos, Rene Higuita, Hans-Jorg Butt, Vincent Enyeama... The list of goalkeepers with a knack for scoring goals isn't particularly long. In fact, in today's football, aside from a couple of relatively unknown names from Brazil and Argentina, hardly any custodians are regular scorers. However, that changed this past weekend. The list got one man longer, and the name added to it is very famous, though the man who bears it has plenty to prove in his own right. The lad's name is Ronald Koeman Jr. He is the son of the legendary Dutch player and coach, and he bagged a brace to earn his team a 2-2 draw, becoming one of the few keepers to score more than one goal in a single game! The 31-year-old's club, Telstar, already seemed written off after their striker Nokkvi Thorisson was sent off in the 22nd minute of their home clash against Cambuur in the Dutch top flight. After heading into the break level despite playing with a man down, Telstar conceded twice by the hour mark, looking set to suffer their third defeat of the season. And then, Koeman Jr. stepped up.
