25-year-old arrested after homicide investigation

GASTON COUNTY, NC – The Gaston County Police have made an arrest following an investigation into a homicide that occurred outside of Mount Holly. Officers responded to a call of a reported shooting at 2013 Grandhaven Drive near Old NC Highway 27. Gaston County Police officers located one victim, who they determined to be deceased from a gunshot wound. The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Jaelan Drum. Drum was arrested and charged with second degree murder. He is currently being held in the Gaston County Jail without bond. No additional information about the victim has been released at this time. This investigation remains ongoing.
