Former Argentina and Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez has said Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have agreed to play on the same team at his farewell match in Buenos Aires in December.
Axar.az reports, citing Goal, that the match is scheduled to take place at Boca Juniors' La Bombonera, where Tevez will bid farewell to fans after retiring from professional football.
Tevez said he had contacted both players and asked them to join the same team for the match.
'I have always dreamed of seeing Cristiano and Leo playing in one team. They are the greatest players of all time. I got in touch with them, especially Cristiano. I told him: Cristiano, I want you and Messi in the same team in my farewell match. So that the whole world can witness this magic once and for all,' Tevez said.
'He said he would be there. Convincing Leo was not difficult either. They both agreed, I am very excited. This match will be very moving,' he added.
Tevez played alongside Messi for Argentina and Ronaldo at Manchester United. If both appear as teammates at his farewell match, it would be the first time the two football icons have played together in the same team.
