Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers holding free Children's Safety Expo

Article content The free-admission event is being held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Clair College Chatham campus, 1001 Grand Ave. W. The activities include an opportunity to explore police cruisers, ATVs, fire trucks, an ambulance, a boat, an armoured tank and the Chatham-Kent Police Service Mobile Command Centre, said a Crime Stoppers media release. Organizers have planned a Jaws of Life vehicle rescue demonstration and fire extinguisher demonstration. The rollover crash simulator also will be there. Three safety events also are happening including a car seat clinic where qualified staff from Moraviantown Police will check the installation and ensure safety standards, and answer questions. The expo also will feature a bike helmet clinic where three Chatham-Kent special constables will show those attending how to property adjust and wear a bike helmet for maximum protection.
