BREAKING: LSU Could Be Booted From the SEC For Trying to Add Ex-NFLers to Roster

Louisiana State University is reportedly facing expulsion from the Southeastern Conference for football coach Lane Kiffin's bid to add two NFL players to the school's roster. The SEC sued LSU last week for allegedly ignoring the group's rule barring NFL players from being signed by college teams. The SEC has set a meeting for Thursday to decide the school's fate, according to Yahoo! sports reporter Ross Dellenger, who posted screenshots on X of the latest court filings in the case: The SEC has scheduled a meeting Thursday to 'decide whether to terminate Louisiana State University ('LSU') as an SEC member institution pursuant to Section 3.1.5 of the SEC Constitution and Bylaw.' Kiffin said he decided not to roster Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris, who have previously been participants in the NFL preseason, in 'the best interests of the team' ahead of LSU's season opener Saturday night against Clemson. Wright and Harris had signed with the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints, respectively, but had left their professional teams to return to college and play at LSU. The SEC's bid to oust LSU came days after veteran ESPN Analyst Paul Finebaum torched Kiffin and LSU on SEC Nation. In his fiery remarks, Finebaum practically predicted LSU would get the boot. 'We can all wrap our arms around Lane Kiffin and say he's lovable, and he's a great coach but in the end he's a child. He's a 51-year-old man behaving like a 16-year-old. And the worst part — there are no adults in the room,' he said. 'I thought all college campuses have an athletic director. The one at LSU has been nowhere to be found,' he continued, adding, 'The president, Wade Rousse, has been nowhere to be found.' 'The governor is calling all the shots and I wonder if there's any supervision. Does LSU have a board of supervisors? Is someone in charge to allow this to go one? We can quibble about should these guys have come back, that's for another day, that's for a court,' he said, saying, 'What happened down there has left a stain on this league. 'And I know it's not going to happen and it probably shouldn't happen, but if the presidents of the SEC took a vote today, they very well might vote to kick LSU out of the league and I can tell you fans out there would not be the least bit upset by it.'
