Celtic striker reacts to being left out of European squad

Mheuka, 18, joined Celtic on loan from Chelsea to gain regular first-team football. Despite being excluded from the European squad due to registration restrictions, the young forward remains focused on making an impact in domestic competitions. He said: "It's football. "For me, my focus is on the domestic games and doing what I can for the team. Wherever I'm asked to play or wherever I'm asked to be, that's what I'll do. I'll just give my 100 per cent into that. "There is never really any disappointment; it is just about doing my best wherever I am." Mheuka's decision to leave Chelsea on loan was driven by his desire for regular senior football. He added: "Your ultimate goal is to be a regular first-team player in due course. "Speaking to my family and everyone close to me, everyone thought it was the right time to do so. We felt like Celtic was the best option for that. "I'm just focused on playing and training, trying to get into that team and make an impact whenever I can." Mheuka has quickly settled into life in Glasgow and is confident opportunities will continue to come his way. This is despite the frustration of what he thought was his first Celtic goal being ruled out. He said: "At the time I thought it was a goal; you could see in my celebrations. "These things happen. There will be plenty more opportunities in the coming games, hopefully, for me to score."
