Deiab currently leads the Alberta Insurance Council and previously served as CEO of the Safety Codes Council, where she oversaw construction codes across the province. Before moving into regulation, she held senior roles with the Government of Alberta focused on economic development in the energy sector, and built an earlier career in business development, including running her own construction business. That regulatory path has been shaped by a consistent focus on governance. Deiab spent a year consulting with boards and organizations on the subject before joining the Alberta Insurance Council, work she says informs how she approaches the role today.
