GTA Participates in 17th GCC Tax Authorities Meeting in Bahrain The General Tax Authority (GTA) took part in the 17th meeting of the Committee of Heads and Directors of Tax Administrations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, held on Tuesday in Manama, Bahrain, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA). During the gathering, tax officials from across the GCC discussed various matters related to the advancement of tax systems in the region, including regulatory and legislative structures and closer integration of electronic platforms. They also examined significant regional and international developments and relevant experiences, while exploring areas of coordination and mutual interest among member states. Participants underscored the importance of reinforcing joint GCC action and maintaining coordination in taxation to support the evolution of tax policies, economic diversification initiatives, and sustainable development throughout the GCC. They also pointed to the value of regular meetings in harmonizing efforts and boosting institutional capacities in line with shared economic objectives. The meeting is part of ongoing initiatives to enhance cooperation among GCC tax authorities, improve the efficiency of tax systems, and align tax policies and procedures with global economic trends, thereby advancing economic integration in the region.
