Türkiye accelerates digital infrastructure goals by hosting major tech event GITEX Ai

Türkiye's infrastructure investments to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) capacity will be showcased at the upcoming GITEX Ai summit in Istanbul. The two-day event will run from Wednesday to Thursday and is organized by Türkiye's Investment and Finance Office, with the Industry and Technology Ministry serving as its strategic partner. Anadolu is the event's global communications partner. The summit will connect global tech giants with emerging local startups, as more than 350 firms will showcase their offerings to international investors, policymakers, and industry executives. Google Cloud, AWS, Huawei, Dell Technologies, and SAP are among those slated to attend the expo. The event will also feature a section on data centers and smart infrastructure to explore strategies for building secure and scalable frameworks to leverage AI in national organizational workflows. Türkiye's push for computing capabilities aligns with its newly established AI vision and action plan for 2026-2030. Ankara aims to attract $10 billion in private-sector investments for AI infrastructure, cloud computing, and data centers, while the government also plans to increase its installed data center capacity to a minimum of 1 gigawatt by the end of the decade — the opening-day panel will focus on this goal. Senior representatives from Equinix Türkiye, Schneider Electric, and HPE will attend the session to detail how Türkiye can implement the physical computing infrastructure outlined in its national strategy. The organization of GITEX events is handled by a joint venture between the Dubai World Trade Center and Informa, namely inD. The event to be held in Istanbul this week will also bring together Türkiye's leading organizations, such as Trendyol, Andevos, and Halkbank, as well as Antalya Technopark, Istanbul Technical University's ARI Technopark, and Giresun Technopark.
