Amazon MGM Studios and Alliance Home Entertainment Sept. 8 announced the home video release of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – Season 1 and Season 2' available as 4-disc 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray Disc and DVD sets on Nov. 3 and as a limited edition 4K UHD SteelBook Dec. 1.
The 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD releases include Behind-The-Scenes Bonus Content. Both seasons will also be available as Amazon exclusive 4K UHD gift sets featuring limited edition SteelBook packaging and collectible art cards.
Season 1 made its debut on Prime Video in September 2022, followed by the Season 2 premiere in August 2024. The award-winning series is one of the highest performing and most-viewed titles ever on Prime Video, with over 185 million viewers worldwide to date.
Set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, this drama follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil in Middle-earth.
Season 1 was led by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They were joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, J.A. Bayona, Belén Atienza, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, Gennifer Hutchison, Bruce Richmond, and Sharon Tal Yguado, and producers Ron Ames and Christopher Newman. Wayne Che Yip was co-executive producer and directed along with J.A. Bayona and Charlotte Brändström.
Season 2 was produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They were joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, Justin Doble, Jason Cahill, and Gennifer Hutchison, along with co-executive producer and director Charlotte Brändström, producers Kate Hazell and Helen Shang, and co-producers Clare Buxton, Andrew Lee, Glenise Mullins, and Matthew Penry-Davey. Additional Season Two directors were Sanaa Hamri and Louise Hooper.
