The Detroit Lions on Monday, Sept. 7, announced seven captains for the 2026 regular season. Defensive tackle Alim McNeill, offensive tackle Penei Sewell, edge defender Aidan Hutchinson, quarterback Jared Goff, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, punter Jack Fox and linebacker Jack Campbell all were named captains for the upcoming campaign. Detroit announced six captains last season. Goff, St. Brown, Sewell, and Hutchinson are all repeat captains. The Lions added two newcomers to the group of defensive captains — replacing linebacker Alex Anzalone and adding one extra role — in Campbell and McNeill. Fox is replacing the special-teams captaincy role previously held by Grant Stuard, who joined the Los Angeles Rams in free agency. Goff is entering his sixth season as Lions captain, while Sewell and St. Brown are entering their fourth. Hutchinson, meanwhile, is entering his third year with the "C" on his chest. Fox, a two-time All-Pro, is the only player entering a contract year, and he could very well re-sign with Detroit, so this is probably going to be Detroit's captaincy. nbianchi@detroitnews.com @nolanbianchi This article originally appeared on The Detroit News: Detroit Lions announce 2026 captains: See who will wear 'C'
