RCB Hosts Free Plant Distribution Camp On Independence Day

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2026) Rawalpindi Cantonment board organized a free plant distribution camp at Roomi Park on the occasion of Pakistan's 80th Independence Day celebrations, aiming to raise awareness among residents regarding afforestation and environmental conservation. During the drive, over 7,000 saplings were distributed free of cost to cantonment residents. The distributed varieties included a wide range of fruit-bearing, flowering, and shade-providing plants to encourage citizens to expand green cover around their homes and neighborhoods. Organized specifically in connection with August 14 celebrations, the initiative highlights the commitment to creating a greener, cleaner, and healthier environment while prompting public participation in tree plantation drives. Cantonment Board management emphasized that expanding tree cover plays a critical role in environmental improvement and ensures a sustainable, healthy habitat for future generations, noting that active community engagement remains essential to achieving these goals.
