Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar is gearing up for his next theatrical outing, Haiwaan, a crime thriller directed by veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan. The film also features Saif Ali Khan in a key role, bringing together two prominent actors for an intriguing thriller.
The movie has now completed its censor formalities and has been awarded a U/A certificate. The approved runtime stands at 164 minutes, or 2 hours and 44 minutes, making Haiwaan a fairly lengthy film, particularly for a crime thriller. The extended duration has naturally raised curiosity about the screenplay and whether the narrative will be engaging enough to justify the runtime.
Despite the strong combination of Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan and Priyadarshan, the film has so far generated relatively limited buzz among audiences. Trade circles are reportedly expecting a single-digit opening at the box office.
With advance bookings now opening, the film faces the challenge of building momentum ahead of its theatrical release. At this stage, Haiwaan will largely depend on audience reception and positive word of mouth to gain strength at the box office.
If the thriller manages to strike a chord with viewers, the initial low buzz could potentially turn into stronger collections over the opening days.
