Science center adds laser-light showings in Dome

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... Orlando Science Center has announced its Cosmic Concerts schedule, featuring laser-light shows in its refurbished Dome by Dr. Phillips Charities. The museum will present three different productions on the second Saturday of the month through the end of the year. Tickets for each laser-light show are sold separately for $15. Admission does not include access to other exhibits within the science center. The series begins Sept. 12 with Laser Pop (an '80s/'90s compilation) at 6:30 p.m., Pink Floyd's The Wall at 8 p.m. and U2 at 9:30 p.m. Disney: New Candlelight narrators include Lacey Chabert, Jason Kelce, Robin Roberts The science center will close to the public at 5 p.m., and the box office will reopen for Cosmic Concerts at 6 p.m. Concession snacks and beverages will be available for purchase before each show. Guests age 21 and older can buy beer and wine. The museum warns that the concerts feature music at loud volumes and fast-paced laser visuals that may be visually overstimulating and that these shows aren't recommended for children under the age 12. Upcoming evenings will feature Fright Night, Laser Zeppelin and Rocket Man on Oct. 10; Laser Beatles, Rush 2112 and Metallica on Nov. 14; and Laser Holidays, Grateful Dead and Taylor Swift on Dec. 12. Orlando Science Center revived its laser-light show program after a nine-month, $7 million renovation of its theater, formerly known as the CineDome.
