The head of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, reported this on Facebook , according to Ukrinform. 'This terrible day of 'hunting' passenger trains continues. Once again, the train was stopped in advance for safety reasons after a threat was detected, and the passengers were evacuated,' the statement reads. According to preliminary information, nine passengers sustained shrapnel injuries after failing to move to a safe distance. Therefore, all passengers are urged not to ignore warnings of danger and, when an evacuation is announced, to immediately go to a shelter or move at least 200 meters away from the train. In 99% of cases, train drivers manage to stop trains in time when threats arise. The passengers are requested not to waste time and to follow the instructions of Ukrzaliznytsia employees clearly. The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, for its part, reported on Facebook that, according to the investigation, Russian forces attacked a diesel locomotive and the Vyry–Liubotyn passenger train between 10:51 a.m. and 12:21 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at an intermediate railway station in Sumy district. Preliminary information indicates that the enemy used three drones. As a result of the attack, the diesel locomotive and one of the train's carriages caught fire. According to preliminary information, nine people were injured. Law enforcement officers have launched a pretrial investigation under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine concerning violations of the laws and customs of war.
