Alyssa Brown named Shippensburg University's Assistant Swimming Coach

Shippensburg University Athletics has hired Alyssa Brown as an assistant swimming coach. She will assist first-year head coach Andrew Hale with all aspects of the program. Brown completed her collegiate swimming career with Shippensburg last season as a graduate transfer after spending three seasons at East Stroudsburg University. At the 2026 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships, Brown recorded personal-best times in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle and 1,650-yard freestyle. She placed 22nd in the 1,650-yard freestyle in 2026 after finishing 18th in the event in 2025. Brown is a Shippensburg native and graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She served as a team captain, earned a medal at the PIAA District III Championships and helped the Greyhounds win two Mid-Penn Colonial Division titles. Brown has several years of experience as a youth swimming coach. She is a USA Swimming coach and currently works as an instructor at the Shippensburg Aquatic Club. She will also continue working as a graduate assistant in the Kathryn Hughes Seaber Raiders Academic Center while pursuing a master's degree in biology. Her duties include academic advising, peer mentorship, tutoring and scheduling assistance. Brown earned a bachelor's degree in biology from East Stroudsburg University in May 2025.
