Two people from Jasper die following Saturday crash near Bronson

The Texas Department of Public Safety says two people from Jasper died in an auto accident that occurred over the weekend in nearby San Augustine County. Troopers said the two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 96 north of Bronson on Saturday at approximately 4:30 p.m., when a Kia that was traveling north apparently hit a wet spot in the highway and hydroplaned, causing it to cross into the southbound lane and collide with a southbound Chevrolet Camaro.
