Obōz to skip Fashion Week

BOZEMAN, Montana. (September 7, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ — Fashion Week starts September 10th in New York City and Obōz will not be there. The Bozeman-based outdoor and performance trail footwear brand has confirmed it won't be attending high fashion's annual gathering where top designers unveil new collections for editors, buyers, and celebrities from around the world. 'September's just such a beautiful month for hiking. We couldn't reasonably ask our people to trade their ridge lines for a runway,' said Obōz president Amy Beck. 'Besides, nobody asked.' Beck noted the brand was already quite busy during Fashion Week with previous commitments: the launch of a new Fall campaign that includes a live-stream on September 10 and 11 from the Kitchen Dwellers concert at Pine Creek Lodge in Paradise Valley, Montana; several employees running the freakishly brutal and technical 50K Rut Race in Big Sky; preparations for leading a hike during Climate Week in New York; oh, and laundry – We've got lots of laundry. When asked whether Obōz was considering collaborating with other major fashion events like Milan, London, or Pitti Uomo, Beck responded that 'it never came up.' 'But, if any editors, buyers, or celebrities would like to walk a red rock carpet in highly functional, great-fitting trail footwear, we can arrange that,' said Beck. 'You can even call it a Collection!' You will not find this Fall's ' We did not make it to Fashion Week ' campaign in publications like Vogue, Women's Wear Daily, or The Cut. As of press time, Fashion Week organizers had not confirmed if they were aware of any plans by the brand to not attend Fashion Week, or if they had ever even heard of Obōz.
