Telangana minister condemns BRS MLAs and MLCs' conduct in assembly as distressing

Telangana Labour, Employment and Mines Minister G Vivek Venkataswamy has expressed strong disapproval of the behaviour of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs and MLCs within the Assembly premises on September 8. BRS legislators staged a protest at the Assembly wearing black T-shirts with slogans opposing the government but were stopped at the gate, leading to a scuffle with police. During the incident, BRS MLC Tata Madhu allegedly made objectionable remarks against Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar. Add TNM on Google Venkataswamy stated that while the Congress supports democratically conducted protests and agitations, inappropriate comments directed at Speaker Kumar were unacceptable. He said, 'The MLC who made inappropriate comments against the Speaker should be dismissed from the House.' The Minister further claimed that the BRS leaders' remarks were reckless and motivated by the Speaker's Dalit identity. 'The remarks made against the Speaker were not directed at just one individual; they were words spoken against the entire Dalit community. Dalit organisations should also take note of this issue,' he added. The Minister recalled the decade-long tenure of the BRS government, stating it had made many promises to the public but failed to fulfil them. He said, 'KCR promised to make a Dalit the Chief Minister but failed to do so. The party also betrayed the people by failing to deliver on promises such as three acres of land for Dalits, unemployment allowances, and double-bedroom houses.' ADVERTISEMENT Regarding the current Congress administration, Venkataswamy claimed that in the two and a half years since taking office, six guarantees are being implemented and the remaining pledges will be fulfilled in the next two and a half years. The Minister also accused the BRS of corruption during its ten-year rule and alleged that, having lost power, it is now resorting to attempts to defame the Congress through false social media propaganda out of frustration.
