Run With Carl marks Labor Day in Bettendorf

BETTENDORF, Iowa (KWQC) - Labor Day started with a longtime Quad Cities tradition, 'Run With Carl,' held on Middle Road in Bettendorf.
Every year runners gather for long distance races in honor of Carl Schillig, a Pleasant Valley High School student athlete who died in a car/pedestrian accident.
Proceeds from the race help support college scholarships for Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley High School graduates.
