A suspect is in custody in connection with a homicide in the Chandler Creek subdivision, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office announced.
Deputies responded to the 2400 block of Chandler Creek Boulevard at about 11 a.m. Sept. 7 after a report of an injured person. EMS personnel determined the individual was dead when they arrived, according to the sheriff's office.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division classified the case as a homicide and released a photo of a suspect, asking the public for help identifying him.
Through the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 26-year-old Benedict Ogbodiegwu of Round Rock, the sheriff's office said. Ogbodiegwu was taken into custody late Monday night and charged with murder.

Detectives, assisted by the Texas Rangers, continue to investigate the circumstances of the homicide. Based on preliminary evidence, investigators believe the attack was a random act and that the victim and suspect did not know each other, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said the case remains active.
Officials thanked the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Rangers, the Round Rock Police Department and the Round Rock Fire Department (ESD 9) for their assistance during the initial response and the ongoing investigation.
