Jagran Bureau, New Delhi | With General Secretary Sachin Pilot taking over as the in-charge of the Punjab Congress, there are strong indications of an end to long-standing infighting in the state unit.
After being appointed as the General Secretary in-charge of Punjab in a major reshuffle in the AACC organisation ahead of the state assembly elections, Pilot on Tuesday met Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and discussed state politics issues ranging from resolving the internal dispute of Punjab Congress to election preparations.
After taking charge, Pilot has started holding a series of separate meetings with the leaders of Punjab Congress and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa at the party office. He discussed organisational issues and strategy to expose the Bhagwant Mann government.

Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring also called on Pilot on Monday evening. There are strong indications that Pilot will soon discuss matters with disgruntled senior leaders, including former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. It is understood that as per the signals received from the top leadership, Pilot will talk to all the leaders and find a solution to take the state Congress unit as a team in the poll battle.
Rahul Gandhi Backs Pilot On Punjab Issue
In this matter, Rahul Gandhi has given complete freedom to Pilot to take decisive and necessary steps. The party leadership's anxiety to resolve the internal crisis in Punjab Congress can be understood from the fact that before leaving for his parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli, Gandhi discussed the Punjab infighting with Pilot. Another key leader, Priyanka Gandhi was also present during the meeting held at 10 Janpath, the residence of Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
