Montgomery County Councilmember Will Jawando suffers heart attack

Will Jawando, a member of the Montgomery County Council and Democratic nominee for county executive, had a heart attack over the weekend while playing basketball, his office said. Jawando's office said in a statement Monday he was immediately taken to The George Washington University Hospital in D.C. after he suffered a heart attack on Saturday morning during his regular pickup basketball game. Jawando is resting at the hospital and is expected to be discharged later this week to recover at home. On the morning of Saturday, September 5th, Will experienced a heart attack during his regular weekend pickup basketball game. He was treated at The George Washington Hospital. Jawando will have a lighter schedule in the coming weeks as he recovers and follows his doctor's guidance. He's focused on November and needs all of us focused on this critical election as well," read a post on Jawando's X account.
