The provincial government of Manica has moved to establish an industrial park in the district of Vanduzi, in an initiative designed to attract private investment, install new productive units and generate employment in the country's central region. The project stems from a memorandum of understanding signed between the Manica Provincial Executive Council and MOZ PARK during a seminar showcasing the economic opportunities and potential of the central region's provinces, held on the sidelines of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM). In its first phase, the industrial park will be located in the Selva settlement in Vanduzi, and is intended to function as a platform to host companies from a range of sectors. The initiative forms part of a broader industrialisation strategy for the province, with expansion of the model to other parts of Manica planned at a later stage. According to Manica Governor Francisca Tomás, the future park could receive investment in areas including agro-processing, metalworking, hospitality, catering and other economic activities. The provincial government expects the new infrastructure to create better conditions for business establishment, increase local processing capacity and stimulate the provincial economy. Among the first institutions to express interest in the project is CPMZ, which intends to install a new fuel pumping station within the future industrial park. For MOZ PARK Director-General Onório Boane, the priority is to drive industrialisation in Manica and create new employment opportunities for local communities. With the signing of the memorandum, the foundations have been laid for the implementation of the MANICA PARKS project, whose realisation is set to begin in Vanduzi. The initiative has the potential to transform the district into a new pole of attraction for industrial investment and reinforce Manica's role in the productive supply chain of the country's central region.
