ADU launches FertiClinic reproductive research lab in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has inaugurated the FertiClinic Reproductive Research Lab as part of its strategic collaboration with FertiClinic Fertilisation Group, strengthening opportunities for research, innovation and hands-on learning in reproductive medicine. The new facility provides access to advanced reproductive research infrastructure and clinical expertise, supporting ADU's efforts to develop research capabilities and provide students and researchers with practical experience in a specialized field of healthcare. The initiative is also expected to contribute to the advancement of reproductive medicine research in the UAE and beyond. The collaboration supports national priorities outlined in 'We the UAE 2031' and UAE Centennial 2071, particularly efforts to build a knowledge-based economy driven by research, innovation and specialized expertise. The event highlighted the role of collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare specialists in advancing medical research. Professor Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor of ADU, stated that, 'By bringing specialized research infrastructure directly into our university campus, the facility creates a unique platform for collaboration between academic researchers and clinical experts. Our collaboration with the FertiClinic Group will empower the next generation of healthcare leaders to drive meaningful, real-world breakthroughs in reproductive medicine.' Housed within ADU's College of Health Sciences, the purpose-built laboratory is dedicated to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) research, including andrology and cryopreservation. The facility is equipped with advanced technologies and designed to meet Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and international standards, providing a specialized environment for research and educational activities in reproductive medicine. The laboratory is expected to create opportunities for impactful research, future educational programs and greater collaboration between academia and the healthcare sector. The partnership also supports Abu Dhabi's growing role as a hub for medical innovation while contributing to the development of specialized knowledge and capabilities in reproductive healthcare.
