The Mawkin Cover Reveal

You have to wait until October 1st, 2026, to pick up Kevin Kangas' latest horror book, The Mawkin, but we have the cover right now! Scroll on down for a larger look at the creepy ass scarecrow that dominates the front. The image was made by Matt Seff Barnes, with the title work by Erik Ashley, both of which also did covers for October Screams: A Halloween Anthology (Ashley doing the regular cover and Barnes the limited edition) and Fear of Clowns: A Horror Anthology (Ashley doing the hardback cover and Barnes the paperback; both books were edited by Kangas and Kenneth W. Cain). Formatting credit goes to Todd Keisling, who also worked on the anthologies. Hey, if you have a fantastic team that delivers bangers each release, why mess with that? I can say with authority The Mawkin is a ton of fun. It's fast, brutal, and a relentless. I was fortunate enough to read an early version, and I cannot wait to re-read it in its final form.
