American singer/songwriter Danielle Ponder has released her new promotional single online. 'God of You' is now available via iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Google Music and all other digital streaming platforms. It was written by Ponder alongside Mike Elizondo, while production duties were handled by Elizondo, with Bartees Strange serving as additional producer, Ben Allen as mixing engineer, Kegan Krogh and Sully Allen as assistant mixing engineers, and Justin Francis, Erica Block and Alex Wilder as recording engineers. The song explores how casual, critical remarks from early in life can shape a person's self-worth and linger for decades. Lyrically, it reflects on how hurtful comments—often from parents, family members, or peers during youth—stick in a person's mind and affect their identity long after the speaker has forgotten saying them. As mentioned in earlier posts, Ponder's upcoming debut studio album 'Everything Has Changed' – featuring singles 'Power' and 'Sun and Moon' – will arrive on 09 October via Dead Oceans / Saddest Factory.
