: The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (DoEF&CC), and Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Programme Authority (UPCAMPA) jointly organised a meeting on 'Clean Cooking for Cleaner Air' on the occasion of the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies on Monday.
The meeting deliberated on clean cooking solutions as a key pathway to improving air quality and promoting sustainable development.
Speaking at the event, V Hekali Zhimomi, Principal Secretary, DoEF&CC, highlighted govt's focus on clean energy initiatives that address multiple development priorities. She noted that the transition to cleaner energy and cooking solutions can simultaneously advance clean air, environmental protection, women's empowerment and sustainable development.
Chairperson of UPPCB RP Singh emphasised that improving air quality requires a collective effort from govt, industry and policymakers. He called for stronger coordination, effective policies, innovative solutions and greater public-private participation to address the growing challenge of air pollution and build a greener economy.
He underlined the need for focused action to curb rising greenhouse gas emissions and particulate pollutants such as PM2.5 and PM10.
