Going to the RNC convention? First, you're going to Grand Prairie. Are you one of the people who signed up for a free general admission ticket to this week's RNC midterm convention at the American Airlines Center? If you haven't checked your email yet, spoiler alert, you probably should, because to get to Victory Park, you're gonna have to go to Grand Prairie. Now, if this sounds like telling someone headed to NorthPark they'll need to drive to Wizards in Richardson first, you'd be fairly correct. But people who signed up for general admission tickets got an email late last week that explained they won't get their ticket unless they show up at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie. There, they will pick up their tickets and then ride the GOP Express (not a name I made up to amuse myself) to Victory Park, where they will presumably hang for the afternoon and evening before riding the GOP Express back to their cars. Make a note: 'Free parking is available on a first come, first served basis at Lone Star Park. Shuttles will begin running around 2:00 PM from Lone Star Park to the American Airlines Center. GOP Express shuttles will return you to Lone Star Park at the conclusion of the event. Shuttles will NOTrun from 5:00 PM CT – 9:00 PM CT during the official program. When shuttles return you after programming, there will be no re-entrance to the Lone Star Park grand stand.' (Bold stuff theirs, not mine.) Not going? We created a guide for you below.
