HUDSON'S HOPE, B.C. — The emergency department in Hudson's Hope will be unavailable for one more day due to a continuation of a previous closure. According to Northern Health's Emergency Department Status page, the department, which closed on Sept. 2 and was set to reopen on Sept. 8, is now scheduled to reopen on Sept. 9 at 8:30 a.m. Advertisement The health centre is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., during normal working hours, which excludes weekends and statutory holidays. The health authority, in a written statement, had previously said the closures were due to 'staffing challenges.' In a written statement, Northern Health said, 'The current service interruption in Hudson's Hope is the result of staffing challenges we have outlined previously.' Advertisement 'The health centre's emergency care services are expected to resume on Wednesday, Sept. 9.' Northern Health urged residents who need emergency health care during a closure to call 911 to connect to BC Emergency Health Services for transport to the nearest available hospital.
