King Charles painful past comes back to haunt him with new bombshell
King Charles could be facing another whirlwind family drama, not only because Prince Harry and Meghan have finally arrived in the UK, but old wounds will be reopened but an old foe.
It is no secret that Charles's marriage with Princess Diana had been rocky and the messy divorce only made things worse. Diana's family, especially her brother Charles Spencer, had friction with the royals.
The Earl of Spencer is revisiting some painful memories of the past in his upcoming memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which will be released next month, almost 30 years after Diana suffered the fatal car crash in Paris.
Prince William and Prince Harry's uncle has made some jarring revelation which royal sources cited by Woman's Day suggest could reignite the age-old feud.
'The King is indeed bracing for the worst in regard to Earl Spencer's book,' they told the outlet. 'Everyone knows from [Harry's book] Spare that there was a big argument during the week of Diana's funeral over whether or not the boys should be expected to walk behind her coffin – Charlie thought it was a 'barbarity'.'
The description for the upcoming book paints a dark series of events and suggests that there would be some new details that could rock the Palace once again.
'This book is Charlie's unfiltered version of events and the palace has no say over the content,' the source continued. 'For a King who values careful messaging, an emotionally charged memoir from his late wife's brother puts him in an unpredictable situation.'
The update also comes during a time when rumour mill suggests that Harry and Meghan's return to UK was quietly being funded by uncle Charles.
It remains to be seen how things pan out for the royals.
