LAHORE, Oct 25 (APP):The Punjab Housing Department has integrated Public Relations Officers (PROs) of Water and Sanitation Agencies (WASAs) across the province under a unified communication system to enhance public awareness about water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). In this regard, the first-ever training session for WASA PROs from 41 districts of Punjab was organised at Al-Jazari Water Academy, Lahore, focusing on public awareness about urban flooding, clean water supply and sewage-related issues. Principal of Al-Jazari Water Academy Dr. Soman Khalid said raising awareness about water, sanitation and hygiene at the grassroots level was the need of the hour. She urged the PROs to play an effective role in the sector with integrity, dignity and dedication. During the session, Prof. Dr. Adeel Ahmed Aamir and Hafiz Basit Ali trained participants in cross-media communication and digital messaging to help them disseminate information to the public more effectively. At the conclusion of the event, certificates were distributed among the participants, while shields were presented to the training experts.
