The U.S. has now entered the seventh month of its war with Iran, a conflict that has killed 18 Americans and more than 3,000 Iranians, while raising gas prices by more than $1 per gallon. Data for Progress polling has consistently found that voters think the U.S. is failing to accomplish its goals in Iran, and that their top priority regarding the conflict is ending it as soon as possible. New Data for Progress polling finds that a strong majority of voters disapprove of President Donald Trump's handling of the conflict with Iran, and that this disapproval has significantly increased over the past five months. In March, 41% of voters approved of Trump's handling of the conflict, while 52% disapproved — a −11-point margin. Today, only about one-third of voters (35%) approve, while 59% disapprove — a −24-point margin. A strong majority of Independents (71%) and even 3 in 10 Republicans (29%) disapprove of how Trump has handled the conflict.
