Danville Transit to modify service for Three Sisters Marathon

Danville Transit will modify fixed-route bus service from 6 am to 1:50 pm Saturday, Sept. 12, to accommodate the Three Sisters Marathon. During that time, Danville Transit will provide door-to-door service in certain fixed-route areas. Some passengers will need to reserve service in advance. Fixed-route service will not be available on the following routes and segments: No. 3 Edgewood-Stokesland route No. 5 Edgewood-Stokesland route Portions of the No. 1 Kemper Road route and No. 3 Danville Estates route traveling inbound to the Transfer Center, or HUB, along Memorial Drive, Holbrook Street and Cleveland Street South Main Street between Main Street and Central Boulevard Signs will be posted at affected bus stops to notify passengers of the temporary service changes. During the service modifications, fares for Handivan and Reserve-A-Ride trips provided in place of fixed-route service will be charged at the fixed-route base fare. Passengers who may be affected are encouraged to plan ahead and make reservations when required.
