Video shared by a fan on TikTok shows LaMontagne playing his guitar at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium when he suddenly started grunting and grabbed the microphone stand before falling backwards to the floor. Gasps could be heard from the audience, as crew members rushed to help the singer. It comes less than a year after singer Lola Young collapsed on stage at the All Things Go Music Festival in New York City. Article continues below After the incident on Saturday, September 5, LaMontagne's team stated in his Instagram Stories that he had collapsed due to heat-related dehydration. In a message seen by Consequence, the team added the singer was feeling better. "Thank you to everyone who came out to tonight's show at the Ryman," his management wrote. "Ray is in good hands with the local EMS and is being treated for heat-related dehydration; he is doing well now and is grateful for everyone's understanding." LaMontagne did return to perform at Louisville Palace, Kentucky, on September 6. After Saturday night's incident, several fans reported that the Nashville venue was particularly hot that evening. Many people expressed their concerns for the singer on social media, with one writing on TikTok, "Imagine how awful he felt before actually collapsing. That's terrible :(."
