Wexford businesses put Lean learning into action

Businesses from across county Wexford came together at Guardian Fire in New Ross recently, to celebrate the successful completion of a Lean Yellow Belt programme, delivered by Lean Industry 4.0 (LI4) and supported by County Wexford Chamber Skillnet. Learners from Guardian Fire, BD, Wallace Homes and Breen Transport presented projects demonstrating how they have applied their Lean learning to real challenges within their own workplaces. The presentations highlighted practical improvements across the businesses, from better processes and problem-solving to reducing waste and achieving valuable time and cost savings. Aisling O'Connor, Network Manager with County Wexford Chamber Skillnet, said seeing the projects first-hand demonstrated the practical value of the programme. 'What really stood out was seeing how the learners had taken what they learned and applied it to genuine challenges within their own workplaces. The projects were very different, but the focus throughout was on finding better, more efficient ways of working and delivering real improvements for the business,' she said. 'It was fantastic to bring everyone together to recognise the work and commitment of our learners,' Ms O'Connor concluded.
