Rabiul Awwal moon not sighted, Eid Milad un Nabi on Aug 26

By The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Thursday announced that the moon for Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH was not sighted, with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) to be observed across Pakistan on August 26. The announcement came after a meeting of the committee in Islamabad, chaired by its Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Representatives of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Ministry of Science and Technology and other relevant institutions attended the meeting and provided technical assistance. The committee reviewed moon-sighting reports and testimonies received from different parts of the country. After examining the available evidence, it concluded that no credible sighting of the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon had been reported. Accordingly, the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH will fall on Saturday, August 15, while the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed on Wednesday, August 26. Eid Milad-un-Nabi holds profound religious significance for Muslims around the world. The occasion is marked by prayers, charity and gatherings, with the faithful reaffirming their commitment to the teachings and exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), regarded as a source of guidance, compassion and peace for humanity.
