Faru, on Silver Street in Durham, will hold its final service at the venue on Saturday, September 26, before temporarily closing to prepare for a move to a new location. Owners Jake and Laura Siddle opened Faru in 2023 after leaving Newcastle fine-dining restaurant House of Tides, where Jake was head chef and Laura ran front of house. The team at Faru (L-R) Assistant Manager Sophia Mercer, Owners Jake and Laura Siddle, and Sous Chef Liam Cavana. In a message to customers announcing the move, they said: 'Our journey continues. 'After three memorable years on Silver Street, Faru is moving to a new home. 'Over the next couple of weeks, we invite you to join us for your last chance to dine at Faru, before our final service on Saturday, September 26. Co-owner Jake Siddle 'We will then be closing our doors as we prepare to begin the next chapter of the Faru journey.' The pair said they were grateful to everyone who had supported the restaurant since it opened. They said: 'We are taking everything we love about Faru with us, from our flavour-led food to the people, atmosphere and memories we have made along the way, and bringing it all into a new space. 'We are so grateful to everyone who has walked through our doors, shared our tables, celebrated with us and supported us along the way. Co-owner Jake Siddle 'And to our wonderful team, this place would not be what it is without you.' The owners have said further information about the new location will be shared soon. Faru takes its name from the Old English word for 'journey', a fitting choice for a restaurant born from the pair's ambition to create a dining experience of their own.
