I began this post by listing out the hundreds of reasons why voting in November is so damn important. Then, as I drowned in the headlines I collect (yes, I do that) I realized something important:You know.We know. But…Spreading the word about the stakes of voting or not voting this November requires our amplification.Democracy is at stake.Writers for Democratic Action-Massachusetts created the graphic above to deliver a clear message into the November elections:Vote blue. Power the races that matter. Win Congress. Defend democracy. Not every candidate will embody every one of our ideals to earn our strategic support. 'That's part of why I think of voting as a chess move, not a valentine. It's just a little part of the picture of how we make the world.'—Rebecca Solnit In November, we need to make those chess moves thoughtfully - supporting Democratic candidates in the pivotal races that can determine control of the House and Senate. How the graphic can be used 1. As a Facebook cover image and on other social-media platforms.2. For essays, Substack posts, newsletters, and commentary. 3. To direct attention toward the races that will determine control of Congress. 4. As a reminder that voting is strategic. 5. As a symbol of collective democratic action.Download it hereDisplay it.Share it.Make a yard sign! Our votes matter. Our words matter. The races that determine Congress matter. Together, we can win Congress - and defend democracy.Writers for Democratic Action-Massachusetts
