There will be a 'pleasant' start to the weekend, Met Éireann has said, but the outlook for next week is more 'mixed' with rain on the way and temperatures expected to drop. Today will be sunny and largely dry, save for the odd shower in the northwest early on. There will also be some patches of mist or fog in the morning, particularly along the south coast. After a cooler start in the morning, highest temperatures this afternoon will range from 14 to 17C. Those calm conditions will continue into tonight when it will be dry and clear for the most part. Cloud will build up through the night however, bringing some patches of drizzle to coastal areas in the west. Lowest temperatures will be between 5 and 11C, coolest in areas where skies are clear. Sunday morning will start off with more mist and fog, and will be followed by a cloudy day with drizzle in the west and northwest. It will be dry in other areas, with some sunshine in the east and southeast. Tomorrow will be a mild, humid day with highs of 16 to 19C. Moving into next week, Monday is forecast to be 'overcast' with mist, rain and drizzle across the country. The midlands and east will enjoy the best of a few sunny spells, while more persistent rain will affect the north and northwest later in the day. It will be another mild and humid day with highs of 15 to 19C. Tuesday will start off wet as rain continues into the morning, but things will clear up to bring sun and largely dry weather for the rest of the day, with highs of 13 to 16C. On Wednesday, temperatures will be slightly ooler with highs dropping to 11 to 15C. It will be a mixed day with some clouds and sunny spells, and showers mainly falling over the northern half of the country.
