Teen arrested by gardaí over fatal assault of man (38) in Dublin 7

A teenager has been arrested in connection to the fatal assault of a man in Dublin 7 last month. Jamie Bailey (38) was beaten to death in the early hours of Sunday, October 18 on Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin. Originally from Limerick, Mr Bailey was found with serious injures by passers-by on the footpath between Blackhorse Grove and Glenbeigh Road. He was rushed to nearby Mater Hospital but was later pronounced dead. Gardaí have confirmed that an adult male aged in his late teens was arrested over the investigation earlier today. He is being held at a Garda station in the Dublin area under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. A Garda spokesperson says that investigations are ongoing.
