The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is strengthening its port-side logistics infrastructure with its Centralized Parking Plaza (CPP), a large-scale facility designed to streamline the movement of factory-stuffed export container trucks. Spread across 45 hectares, the CPP has the capacity to accommodate 2,832 tractor-trailers at a time, making it a significant integrated parking facility dedicated to factory-stuffed export container trucks. The centralized facility brings trucks waiting for port entry together at a single organized location, replacing the earlier practice of vehicles waiting at multiple locations. This is expected to facilitate smoother traffic flow, reduce congestion, improve truck turnaround times and enhance the overall efficiency of port operations. By providing a structured interface between road-based cargo movement and port operations, the CPP represents an important step towards creating a more coordinated and efficient container logistics ecosystem at JNPA. The initiative also underlines JNPA's continued focus on modern infrastructure, operational efficiency and seamless cargo movement, supporting the growing requirements of India's EXIM trade.
