Shots were fired at a vehicle in Abbotsford on Saturday night (Sept. 5), but nobody was injured. Sgt. Paul Walker, media officer with the Abbotsford Police Department, said the incident occurred just after 11 p.m. in the 2500 block of McCallum Road. He said initial information indicates that people in a dark-coloured SUV fired several shots at another vehicle. Walker said that, shortly afterwards, officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 2400 block of Sunnyside Place. When they arrived, they found an SUV fully engulfed in flames, he said. Walker said investigators are working to determine the motive for the shooting and whether the vehicle fire is connected to the incident. 'Early indications suggest that this incident was targeted,' he said. Investigators are asking anyone to contact them who might have been in the 2500 block of McCallum Road between 10:45 and 11:30 p.m. or the 2400 block of Sunnyside Place between 11 p.m. and midnight. Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
